El Wadi Hammamat y sus diferentes Wadis que se ramifican en diferentes direcciones llevan hasta canteras de piedra como de minas de oro en el que se excavaron pozos Birpara la provisión de los canteranos.El valle que lleva all pozo se llama wadi y en donde se halla el pozo "bir"en árabe.
Las inscripciones que se detallarán a continuación son desde el neolítico hasta épocas griegas y se hallan aproximadamente en el cruce de Bir Hammamat con el Wadi Fawakhiry el Wadi Basaq el Baqar a unos 80 km de Quft en dirección al Mar Rojo.
